The 2007 Alonso del Yerro is opaque purple in color with an enticing bouquet of spice box, mineral, and earth notes, leather, and blackberry. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with layers of fruit and enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years, this savory effort will offer prime drinking from 2012 to 2022. (90+)

This round, fresh red offers grapey and chocolaty flavors in a loose-knit texture, with light tannins and an herbal finish. This was the better of two bottles. Drink now. 1,250 cases imported.

Wine Enthusiast 87 pts - Michael Schachner
A bit rubbery and earthy, with compost, smoky bacon and black fruit aromas. Nicely balanced with a good mouthfeel, and showing solid berry and plum flavors. Peppery on the finish, with some roasted overtones. Perfectly good for a tough vintage.

Deep red colour. Powerful nose with ripe fresh fruit, spices and liquorice. The mouth, delicate and sweet-toothed, elegantly expresses the floral and liquoriced aromas of the Tempranillo. Fresh fruit, with a highly roasted touch thanks to the barrel. Silky tannins and a long persistence in mouth.
