GreeceThe Wine Advocate 87 pts - Mark SquiresThe 2008 NEMEA, Boutari's appellation Agiorgitiko, is low in alcohol (12.5%) and was aged in French oak for 1 year. It has a lush feel to it early on, but it ultimately resolves into a much purer, more powerful and crisper Agiorgitiko with nice cherry aromatics and flavor nuances. With some air, it acquires a notable earthy nuance. Combining that with the nice structure may not make a stereotypical Agiorgitiko, but it drinks nicely. Drink now-2016.
Description:Deep ruby color. Intense aroma of red fruits marmalade, berry, cherry, accompanied by sweet ageing aroma. In mouth the wine presents a velvet taste and a very good structure. Round and fatty with flavours of chocolate, honey and dry nuts.
