The 2006 Buio is Carignano (Carignan) grown in Sardinia's prestigious Sulcis appellation. It is a full-bodied offering redolent of earthiness, smoke, game, bacon fat and dark cherries. It offers much persistence on the palate, not to mention plenty of style, even if some rough edges remain. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
