EarthyThe Wine Advocate 91 pts - Robert ParkerThe 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard Select is superior from bottle than it was from cask. A wine of balance and impeccable purity, it represents a California version of a fictional blend of a top-notch Pauillac and St.-Julien. A deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by aromas of black currants, earth, tobacco leaf, licorice, and plums, a sweet attack, a pure mid-section, and a medium to full-bodied, persistent finish displaying faultless harmony. It will drink well for 15 years.
Wine Enthusiast 85 pts - Steve HeimoffThis is a good Cabernet but seems pricey for what you get. Ita??s well crafted, ripe and oaky, and finishes with harsh acids.
Description:We have selected Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley's legendary grower, Andy Beckstoffer, and his George III Vineyard, blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc from Beckstoffer's Tokalon Vineyard in Oakville. The result is an elegant blend that displays black cherry, hints of tobacco and subtle anise flavors.
