The Nehme Brothers – Wine Experts

Edgewater Wine is owned by four brothers, Gaby, Tony, Elias, and John Nehme. Wine and food are a passion for the Nehme brothers and have been for as long as they can remember. Many of their childhood memories are of the family and extended family getting together to share good Wine, food and company. Their father was a great raconteur and these family gatherings would always have another most important ingredient – laughter! It gave the brothers an indelible passion for Wine and food and the lifestyle it brings.

Collectively, the Nehme brothers are well-traveled and worldly professionals from varied territories all over Europe and the Mediterranean. Early in their lives, each brother established his own career - an engineer, an electrician, a real estate developer, and a professor - and then found themselves inexplicably drawn together over one single passion...wine!

The brothers share a strong family bond, and once their collective passion for wine was realized, they chose to merge their collective talents and open a business together – one that merged their collective careers and allowed them to work together...and opening a fine wine retail shop was an ideal choice!

Today, the brothers, motivated by their love for each other and by their passion for fine wines, lead customers through a broad variety of wines, and help match wine to specific foods and occasions. The result? A celebration of fine wines in a civilized, attractive atmosphere that's friendly, sophisticated and always entertaining.

Gaby Nehme – Wine Connoisseur

Edgewater Wine's portfolio is assembled from estates represented by veteran vintner Gaby Nehme. The guiding principles for all of these selections – whether from world-famous regions and vintners or obscure ones – are respect for the vine and its environment, scrupulous craftsmanship, and good value.

Gaby Nehme made a name for himself as an electrical engineer before turning his passion for wine and his relationship with one of France’s foremost vignerons into a second career that was to bring him his greatest satisfaction.

Almost 20 years ago, Nehme fell in love with Anne Bourgier, the daughter of the renowned French vigneron family, the Beaujolais. Nehme lived and breathed the wines his new family produced in the Lyon area of France. With the same passion he embraced for his new family, Nehme also fell in love with great wines and chose to pursue a life-long dream—to study and excel at vinology.

As his wisdom about fine wine grew, so did his passion. Soon, Nehme began studying the highly-technical French concept of “terroir” - the influence of vineyard conditions on wines and their distinctiveness- and eventually grew his own hybrid grapes that enabled him to create the special personality of the wine he wanted to produce.

Today, Nehme applies his passion and years of training and research in the wine regions of France to select only the best wines from each region for the customers of Edgewater Wine. His passion for great wine has never flagged, and he’s one of the exceptionally rare people in the wine industry willing to acquire and sell wines from little-known regions. It’s Nehme’s nature to be avant-garde and risk-taking. Working hand-in-hand with his team of connoisseurs and excellent brokers Nehme brings to Edgewater outstanding wines from areas that almost nobody knows in addition to the better known vintages from all over the world.
