Taste: Dry, Structured
The Wine Advocate 91 pts - Lisa Perrotti-Brown Warm strawberries, cinnamon, pot pourri and dried ginger aromas give way to subtle hints of chalk and white pepper. The palate is fully mature yielding mouth-filling red berry fruit seasoned with a pleasant spiciness. Crisp acidity and a long chalky finish. Drink now. Tasted January 2009.
Wine Spectator 93 pts - Alison Napjus This rose Champagne is aging gracefully, layering flavors of coffee, treacle, roasted nuts, toasted bread, dried cherry and spice. Rich and elegant, with lovely integration of the still-vibrant acidity. The finish of smoke and graphite lingers. Drink now through 2015.
Wine Enthusiast 94 pts - Roger Voss Mature yes, but definitely not old. This wine is at its peak now, the fruit still amazingly fresh, but given wonderful complexity by toast, spice and almonds There is an intense acidity that leaves a mouthful of liveliness alongside the great depth of flavor.
Description: The wine's appearance is full of life, rich in colour, pink with orange tints. It has a fine effervescence. On the nose, it is very complex, reminiscent of small red wild fruits. The aromatic structure is very subtle, built around the mineral, even animal (leathery tones typical of Pinot Noir. In the mouth, it shows off its powerful structure, with a remarkable length and delicious fruit overtones.
