Clear, purple-red. Spicy, cedary oak with aromas of black cherries and dark plum fruit. Well balanced, medium to full bodied wine, ripe with flavors of plum, black cherries and dark fruit. A well structured wine that is ripe and elegant with a silky mouth-feel that lingers in a long earthy, peppery finish.

Casa Emma Chianti Classico

This is a very youthful, vibrant, aggressive Chianti.
Very bright, dark ruby color. Extroverted nose with lots of ripe chokecherries, licorice, earth, and fragrant wood smoke scents. Forceful, vibrant flavors -- cherries, leather, and stony minerals predominate. Bright acidity and lots of youthful tannin lend an attractive if not soft texture. A nice wine to have with Italian braised meats and stews, as well as pasta with tomato & meat sauces.

IL Grigio Chianti Classico Riserva

Attractive ruby in color with some orange in the edges. On the nose, medium intensity, the earth hits first, dirt and chalk then some sour cherry, dried fig, anise, clove, and leather. On the palate, medium + intensity, mouth watering acidity left the impression of real juicy fruit, some smoke and dirt. I really like weight on the palate. Most experts agree that Italy makes some of the finest wines to have with food.

"Classic deep ruby color. Textbook notes of leather and tobacco, ripe cherries, strawberry jam and a touch of cocoa. The palate is lively but still quite full with great balance. A direct and honest Chianti at a great price."

"The 2004 Riserva Ducale is characterised by particularly fragrant, fruity notes, typical of this vintage. Sweet cherries and red berry fruits meet with delicately spicy hints of cigar box and white pepper grains and elegant scents of red roses and flint. Fruity, soothing and well-balanced, the taste reveals velvety tannins and lots of fruit. The long ageing in oak enriches the fruity core with hints of cacao and cloves and the long-lingering aftertaste adds intriguing notes of rosemary and figs."
