Tasting Notes: This has always been one of Rosemount’s more interesting wines, as it seems to express that truly, generous Australian fruit profile, infused with a nice spice and earth component that gives it intrigue and nuance, using some of the traditional Rhone varietals that have found a second home on par with none in South Australia. Medium-fuller bodied this has tannins that are in perfect proportion, almost sleek and silky, with the sweet fruit base. The vintage was a warm one and it’s evident with ripeness of the fruit, where sweet, ripe red berry, as well as cherry and plum flavors just rolls through the mouth. But it’s not just all about ripe fruit flavors as there is that spiced element as well as a touch of savory, earth generated tones that give that extra dimension that really makes this a top drop. Not yet rated, this should get some very good press. For those who have followed this wine through the years since its first release in 1994, you will be very pleased indeed.

Rich, dense and focused, a chewy mouthful of plum, blueberry and dusky spice flavors, with meaty texture and flavors that mingle with the fruit on the long, generous finish. Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre. Best from 2007 through 2015. 4,000 cases imported.
