Domaine Vincent Delaporte Chavignol Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Price: $22.98

Pale gold with green hints. Very expressive, intense and complex nose with boxwood, rhubarb, blackcurrant, kiwi fragrances and a light vegetal touch (marigold).
The entry is soft and round. Bright freshness on the palate, delicate and lively purity. Well balanced and harmonious, it ends with a clean lingering finish.
To accompany the wine: As a young wine, it is a superb aperitif served at 10?C and a marvelous companion for shellfish. After a few month of maturation, it becomes excellent with oriental dishes, fish dishes, sushi, grilled or fish with a sauce. Also very good with roasted white meats and poultry.

Delaille Domaine Du Salvard Cheverny Chardonnay 2011 - 88pts
Price: $12.98

Today, all forty-two hectares of vineyards are farmed by the capable brother team of Emmanuel and Thierry Delaille, with help from their father Gilbert. To our delight, they have carried on the traditions established by their ancestors, producing a true, classic Cheverny that is both simple and elegant. Unlike others in the appellation who still vinify the widely-planted and forgettable Romorantin varietal, the Delaille brothers have focused their attention on growing fresh, lively Sauvignon Blanc, deeply rooted in the sand, clay, and limestone plains of northeastern Touraine.

Winemaker Jean-Michel Pieaux represents the third generation of this humble family estate, one that always dedicates the cream of its Chenin Blanc crop to crafting pure, artisanal wine. The Domaine's vineyards benefit from a combination of clay, chalk and silex (or flint), which contributes to its fresh personality. The wines are perfect ripe and clean-delivering abundant aroma, a full-bodied and sweet, yet utterly dry mouth, and plenty of mineral-driven, honeyed Chenin flavor.
