This wine is named after the vineyard Le Clos Bertin. It is 2 ha. (5 acres) in size and is located near the village of St. Saturnin sur Loire only 600 yards from Bois-Brincon. The soil is argile, sand and gravel, and offers generous porosity. This d'Anjou Rouge is made of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc from vines that are over 100 years old. The grapes go through a long maceration of 21 to 35 days. The wine is aged up to 18 months in oak barrels, and is non-filtered.
