John Anthony Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 - 92pts

Price: $55.98

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on three little vineyards I planted and farm in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. The climate and soils create a beautifully balanced and rich wine with flavors of blackberry and blueberry. There is a hint of sweet oak with a big rounded mid palate and smooth finish due to the integrated tannins. Enjoyable upon release and will continue to improve for years to come.

Sixty percent North coast fruit for the muscle and body of the wine, which imparted the rich flavors and aromas of ripe black fruit and Bing cherry. The blend of Central Coast fruits for the remainder of the wine added agile suppleness, with exotic hints of cardamom, orange pekoe tea, and rose hips. The result is a wine with good structure and flavor that is a delicious accompaniment to almost anything - whether it's with friends or food (or both!)

Color: A dense, dark, dark purple core.
Nose: An instant allure, an inviting & tempting aromatic advance. A veritable baker's / winemaker's kitchen: Firstly, scents of freshly baked & dressed Black Forest Cake, replete with dark chocolate and assorted berries, cherries. Then, aromas of Bread & Butter Pudding / Nut Loaf, adorned with dates, sultanas and walnuts.
Brazenly hovering above - wafts of fresh pipe tobacco coupled with higher notes of beeswax- polished leather.
Palate: Lush, expansive & succulent. Balanced, lingering - colluded via conspiring tannins lurking behind masses of blackcurrant & mulberry fruits and a mix of liquorice and mocha. Oak is completely absorbed, yet barrel-f...
