Calera Mills Pinot Noir 2009 - 93pts
Price: $43.98

A beautiful, perfumed bouquet of red currant, boysenberry, stone and a soft, smoky hint introduce this firm yet very elegant 2008 Mills vineyard Pinot Noir. The teeny, tiny (less than a half ton per acre) grape yield harvested this vintage gives an intensity and purity to the steely, round, candied fruit accented mid-palate with a round, viscous mouthfeel. A backbone of gentle but prominent tannins give way to a juicy, graceful and persistent finish.

Chateau Palmer Medoc Mahler Besse 1995 - 94pts
Price: $298.99

The colour is deep-red and very young. This wine has a powerful, rich bouquet featuring slightly jammy blackberry aromas, as well as overtones of leather, gingerbread, and even roasting coffee. The flavour is just as intense, and the tannins provide tightly-knit structure. Unusually for a Palmer, the aftertaste is both aromatic and tannic, which gives a good indication of its ageing potential.
